In this guided tour framed within the framework of Women's Month, participants are invited to reflect on the role of women artists in the history of art, which has often been made invisible. The artist and the curator will delve into the conceptions about women in art, what role they play, how we perceive them, what we expect from them...

Grau's work, Shiny Coatsite specific for the National Museum and Research Center of Altamira, is part of the exhibition The Traces of Altamira which represents the indirect inspiration of Cantabrian rock art, prehistoric polychromy and female creation in contemporary art. Irene Grau establishes, with her work, a bridge between Altamira as origin and the present time. Her research work "in situ" concluded with a series that reflects on the dichotomy between exterior-interior and threat-protection; focused on the brightness of the paintings of Altamira and the cave understood as a shelter, carved into the rock by the course of water, and that protects the paintings.

This guided tour is free of charge and due to the limited capacity, prior registration is required.
