Millions of years ago, the mining basins were a vast forest of ferns, todeas and echisetum. Thanks to photosynthesis and cellular respiration, these plant species made up a veritable storehouse of energy that led to the discovery and exploitation of coal deposits last century. The old boiler room has been colonized by impressive specimens of trees and plants brought from Oceania. This symbiosis between industry and nature leaves us with a clear moral: without vegetation, human life on Earth is not possible.
Discover this unique collection through a new augmented reality experience.
