La Térmica Cultural hosts one of the activities of the educational program of La Fábrica de Luz. Energy Museum

  • Discover the relationship between Carboniferous plants and the mineral that transformed society in 'The mystery of coal: a walk among giant ferns'.

The Light Factory. Museo de la Energía presents the educational program for the 2023-2024 school year. Guided tours, experimental workshops, gymkhanas and other activities make up the offer of the educational plan oriented to scientific dissemination and industrial heritage. Among this year's novelties are The Mystery of Coal: a walk among giant fernsan activity aimed at all educational levels -infant, primary, secondary, high school and vocational training- that takes place in La Térmica Cultural.

This entertaining tour invites schoolchildren to enter a forest of giant ferns like those that covered the Earth in the Carboniferous and discover how these amazing plants played a crucial role in the formation of the coal that changed our lives millions of years later.

To organize this activity, it is necessary to contact La Fábrica de Luz. Museo de la Energía by telephone at 987 400 800 or by e-mail at guias@ciuden.es. The activity, which lasts an hour and a half, has a cost of 3.5 euros per student.

The rest of the activities of the educational program take place in the facilities and surroundings of La Fábrica de Luz. Energy Museum. The staff of the Didactics and Science Area promotes this initiative, aimed at all educational levels, which aims to use science as a vehicle to develop imagination, knowledge, reflection and decision making.
